BHUBANESWAR: On Friday, the Odisha government allocated Rs 7,021 crore for the construction of pucca dwellings under various programmes.
The state government has proposed an outlay of Rs 539 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Gramin and another Rs 600 crore under the PMAY Urban for the building of pucca dwellings, according to Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari, who presented the budget for the 2023–24 fiscal year.
He said that the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana had also made further allocation of Rs 487 crore (BPGY).
The budget for BPGY includes Rs 100 crore for the state program’s interest subvention. In order to provide housing for all of the state’s homeless residents under the pucca ghar programme, Odisha has been seeking that 15 lakh dwellings under PMAY be allocated.
