Kolkata: Central teams will go to 10 districts in Bengal to verify the PM Awas Yojana‘s action taken report. Officials from the panchayat department will direct the central teams as they carry out the evaluation procedure.
Each district will be managed by a high official with the rank of extra secretary. Between the central teams and the relevant District Magistrates, they will coordinate.
All of the districts have previously been informed by the Panchayats department. Murshidabad, East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Alipurduar, Malda, South 24-Parganas, East Burdwan, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong are the names of these ten districts. Within 15 days following their visit, the teams will turn in reports to the center. The central teams could begin their district visits later this week, according to expectations.
In its letter, the Ministry of Rural Development requested the state government’s cooperation and logistical support for the central team’s project verification under the MGNREGA. Teams from the center have already visited the state to inspect MGNREGA projects.
In any case, a two-person Central team had just arrived in the state to assess the 100 days of work. The staff immediately left the airport in Kolkata and headed to Murshidabad. It had gone to Beldanga block II to assess the 100 days of work that had been done there.
Leaders of the Trinamool Congress have already made fun of the Central squad by referring to its players as visitors. They insisted that Bengal is the finest state for tourism and that this is why these teams are traveling there.
In a previous letter to the DM, the Union Rural Development Ministry promised to undertake an investigation into claims of anomalies and the theft of MGNREGA money in Murshidabad.
