Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the chief of Bageshwar Dham, has been provided with Y-category security cover by the Madhya Pradesh government.

The decision was made due to the large number of people attending Dhirendra Shastri's recent programs.

The Madhya Pradesh administration has also asked other state governments to provide Dhirendra Shastri with the same level of protection during his visits to other states.

Prior to his visit to Bihar, the state home department's special branch had issued an alert, warning about potential security threats and the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during such occasions.

Dhirendra Shastri faced controversy during his 'Divya Darbar' session in Bihar when he referred to his followers as "pagal" (mad) due to concerns over the crowd exceeding the venue's capacity.

Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav criticized Shastri's comment, accusing him of insulting Biharis and engaging in divisive politics.
